Mission The Vermont Independent Schools Association is a non-profit organization of pre-K, elementary, middle and secondary schools whose purpose is to support and advance independent education in Vermont. It does so by:
Working to foster and preserve independence and the rights of parents to educate their children in the schools of their choice;
Encouraging collaboration among member schools and cooperation with other educational organizations for the ultimate benefit of Vermont’s students;
Providing leadership and support to member schools in developing and maintaining the highest possible standards of educational programs;
Serving as an advocate for Vermont's independent schools by providing information on educational issues to the state government, Department of Education, and the broader Vermont community.
Governance The Vermont Independent Schools Assoociation is governed by an Executive Committee drawn from Heads of its member schools.
