Membership
VISA has a diverse membership that includes independent schools serving a wide range of student needs.
Under our bylaws, to be considered for membership in our association, a school must meet the following minimum criteria:
The school must be Approved or actively seeking approval from the State Board of Education or accredited or seeking accreditation from the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) or the Association of Independent Schools in New England (AISNE).
The school must demonstrate unqualified commitment to, and compliance with, Vermont’s Public Accommodations and Fair Employment Practices laws in all aspects of its admissions and operations.
The school must demonstrate commitment to the VISA's Statement of Shared Values in all aspects of its admissions and operations.
The school and its employees must be acting in a responsible manner with regard to the educational, physical and emotional well-being of its students.
The school must be meeting its mission.
The school must be organized as a non-profit organization.
